PDF Report display issue on Apple devices

Hello Five team,

I have a problem with reports on macOS (Macbook) and iOS( Ipad, Iphone). When I display the report inside my Five application, I don’t have any PDF toolbar in order to save/print etc. Also, strangely, the footer of the report is not displayed.

According to the Five documentation, I should see this:

On Windows, it is fine:

Is there a configuration I must do for the Apple devices?

Thank you!

Jean

Hi Jean,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, our QA team will look into this and will get back to shortly.

Kind regards,
Jo

Hi Jean,

I have just tested this on a Macbook and it is working correctly for me. Can I get a copy of your FDF or a could you send me a sample FDF (just an example) with this not showing? You don’t need to attach it to the Forum; you can send it directly to me. In the meantime, I will still be seeing if I can reproduce it.

If you do not have a sample FDF, could you please tell me what type of data source you are using (table, query, connection) and any other information you have on your setup.

Kind regards,
Jo

FDF file sent. Thanks for your help.

Hi Jean,

Thanks for sending the file through, it helped to get a solution to your question. Safari operates differently, the download button is available when you hover your mouse around the base of the report, as you can see in the image. Once the report is opened, you then have the ability to print and mark up. Can you please try it in your application?

I am still getting the footer looked into, thanks for your patience Jean!

Kind regards,
Jo

For macOS, thanks for the info, it works! It is not obvious; I thought that Apple products were more intuitive  The issue persists on Ipad and Iphone since there is no “Mouse hover” but the impact is less. Please keep me inform if you find a solution for the footer missing. Thank you!

Hi Jean,
For the iPad and iPhone, hold your finger down on the screen and you should get options popup, again not obvious!

The footer issue has been fixed, and we will be looking at putting out an upgrade very soon with this. Keep your footer set how you have it.

Kind regards,
Jo

Okay, I understand the iOS options pop-up. And it’s great that you fixed the problem quickly! Thanks so much!
