# Can I export my application and continue working on it outside of Five?

I noticed I can export applications. Once exported, can I work on the application outside of Five?

Hi Lionheart,

Unfortunately, you cannot work on an application outside of Five once exported. When you export an application from Five it is stored in a Five Definition File (FDF), this file can only be opened again inside of Five. You can export your application at any point to back it up and store in a different location.
